Prepare yourself to be scared out of your wits! The unanimously acclaimed The Woman in Black combines the power and intensity of live theatre with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir. This unforgettable play gives audiences an evening of unremitting, spine-tingling drama as they are transported into a terrifying and ghostly world. Each performance will be limited to only 48 audience members per night, as the action takes place throughout the theatre while the audience is seated on the stage.

Based on Susan Hill's 1983 horror fiction novel about a menacing ghost that haunts a small English town, The Woman in Black was adapted for the stage by Stephen Malatratt. First performed in the UK in 1987, the play is now celebrating 23 years in London's West End with more than 7 million people having lived to tell the tale of one of the most exciting, gripping and successful theatre events ever staged. John Glenn will direct Company of Fools' production, which features Scott Creighton and Neil Brookshire. The Woman in Black runs October 17-November 3 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey... but it will haunt you long after the lights come up!

Stephen Malatratt's adaptation of Susan Hill's best-selling novel tells the story of a lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a 'Woman in Black'. He engages a young actor to help him tell his story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds. The borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep.

The Woman in Black was first performed at the Theatre-By-The-Sea in Scarborough, England in 1987. The original production received rave reviews, paving the way for future productions throughout the country. It reached the West End in 1989 where it has been a major success ever since. Its success has subsequently reached a global level, having spread to the US, South America and through to the Tokyo theatre scene, and beyond.

Under John Glenn's direction, Company of Fools has assembled a stellar cast to bring this ghost story to life. Scott Creighton is a Company of Fools' Company Artist having performed in countless shows including Violet, It's a Wonderful Life and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Neil Brookshire previously performed with Company of Fools in Uncle Vanya, has performed with Great Lakes Theater, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Boise Contemporary Theater, Idaho Dance Theatre, Opera Idaho, Seattle Novyi Theatre, and spent eight seasons with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. The artistic team for The Woman in Black includes Joe Lavigne (Set Designer), Steven Koehler (Guest Lighting Designer), TEd Macklin (Sound Designer) and K.O. Ogilvie (Stage Manager).
