The Idaho Shakespeare Festival has announced the lineup for their 2012 season, which will include Romeo & Juliet, The Mousetrap, The Imaginary Invalid, and more. For tickets, visit: http://www.idahoshakespeare.org

Romeo and Juliet
June 1 – June 30
The greatest love story ever told, Shakespeare’s powerfully poetic and tragic tale of love and loss will steal your heart and leave you breathless. Transcending the hate of warring factions, in defiance of their parents and in secrecy from their closest friends, two young, star-crossed lovers risk all to be together. However, the same passion that stirs the lovers’ hearts also fuels the wrath of their feuding families and exacts heart-rending results.
The Mousetrap
June 8- July 27
Mysterious twists and thrilling turns abound when a group of strangers stranded in a guest house during a snowstorm discover that a murderer is in their midst. Whodunnit? Is it one of the suspicious newlyweds or the spinster with the curious background? Perhaps it’s the architect, the retired Army major or the strange man running from his past. Enjoy an evening of exhilarating intrigue as Agatha Christie’s greatest mystery unfolds to its surprising conclusion.
The Imaginary Invalid
July 6- August 24
Freely adapted from Molière by Oded Gross and Tracy Young
Tracy Young, director of last year’s smash-hit The Taming of the Shrew, grabs the helm of this freely adapted and hysterical comedy. Is there a doctor in the house? The wealthy Argan is a housebound hypochondriac with every disease imaginable. Literally. Lurking quacks are only too happy to (mis)treat him. Family troubles, a money-grubbing wife and headstrong daughters, add to Argan’s miseries. Molière’s comedy gets an injection of 1960’s pop culture. Original songs and satirical bite.
The Winter’s Tale
August 3- August 26
In a land of myth and adventure, a princess is lost, a queen is banished, an oracle clouds the future, and that old “green-eyed monster” – jealousy- wreaks his havoc. Only by solving the oracle’s riddle, and through a miraculous act of forgiveness, can friends, families and lovers be reunited. In Shakespeare’s most beautiful and romantic fairytale, thieves, clowns, shepherds (and one hungry bear) celebrate the comedy of life and the changing of the seasons.
Noises Off
August 31 - September 29
Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off presents a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop. Sneak a peek at the wacky backstage universe of live theater, doors slamming, on- and backstage intrigue, and an errant herring, which all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play. Make an attempt to control your giggles and guffaws as the whimsical sport of putting on a play goes deliciously wrong.
